Conversation guides
Make online friends, one conversation at a time
A shared question, a comfortable pace, and a way to reconnect. Practice starting an online friendship without pressure.
Find your first question
What small thing made your week better?
Start chatting on chatsizzleStart with something easy to answer
A small detail about someone's week or a hobby gives them room to choose what to share. Offer your own answer too. A conversation feels more balanced when both people ask and respond.
Let interest grow naturally
You do not need to exchange personal details to have a worthwhile chat. Keep your location, passwords, school and contact information private. If a conversation feels uncomfortable, leave, block or report it.
Ask to reconnect
When you both want another conversation, add each other as friends. Accounts support friend invitations and, when enabled, expiring text messages. Rooms and two daily Chat Hour offer another familiar place to return. Matching depends on who is available.
Questions before you start
Do I need an account to start?
Random text chat works without an account or email. If you both want to reconnect, accounts let you add each other as friends and send chat invitations. Expiring direct messages are available when the inbox feature is enabled. Keep your recovery key private.
What if we run out of things to say?
Pick one detail from their last answer and ask about it, or share a small story of your own. A conversation starter or a shared game can give you a new topic. You can end a conversation politely whenever you want; you do not owe anyone another chat.
