Language exchange through everyday conversation
Practice a language with short, friendly text conversations. Choose a question, take turns, and use translation when you need it.
Try a question
What everyday word in your language has no exact translation?
Start chatting on chatsizzleAgree on a small goal
Start with one expression or a five-minute conversation. Ask which language your partner wants to practice, then give both of you a turn. A small goal makes a first exchange easier to finish.
Correct with permission
Ask whether your partner wants corrections. Offer one natural version of a sentence and explain a useful word. Save longer grammar explanations for when they ask, and respond to the meaning of their message first.
Find a comfortable pace
On chatsizzle, your profile language is your translation target. Language preferences help rank available matches; they do not guarantee a native speaker. You can also explore language rooms or return for a Chat Hour at 12:00 or 23:00 UTC.
Questions before you start
Can I choose a native speaker?
Language preferences help prioritize the people who are available. They do not guarantee a native speaker, a specific country or an immediate match. Ask your partner which languages they speak and what they want to practice.
How should I use translation while practicing?
Choose your reading language under Settings → Language. Incoming text can translate when an available translation engine supports it, with the original kept alongside it. Try writing your own short answer first, then use translation to check a word. You can turn automatic translation off in the same section.
