1. Add interests before you start.This is the single biggest lever. chatsizzle matches on what you have in common, so one honest interest is the difference between “hey” going nowhere and landing on someone who already cares about the thing. 2. Open with something they can answer.“Hi” puts all the work on the other person. A question about the interest you both picked does not. If you are stuck, the conversation starter generator will hand you openers that actually get a reply.
3. Skip early and without guilt. A conversation that is not working is not a personal failure on either side. Move on. The next match is five seconds away.

Talking to strangers safely

The whole thing is safe as long as it stays anonymous, and stops being safe the moment it does not. The rules are short and they are the same everywhere, not just here.

• Give nothing that identifies you. Not your full name, your town, your school or workplace, or your other accounts. Anonymity is the safety feature. Do not trade it away to be friendly.
• Never send money, ever, for any reason. Anyone who asks a stranger for money is running a script, and it is run at scale.

• No signup, no email, no app. Pick a name, or let one be generated, and you are talking to someone in about five seconds.
• Everything is free. There is no paid tier and nothing held back to sell you later.
• You are matched on interests, not purely at random, so the person on the other end is more likely to be worth talking to.
• Messages are translated on your own device, in your browser, so you can talk to someone who does not share your language. No message text is sent anywhere to be translated. This works today in Chrome and Edge, the browsers that ship the API.
• Reporting works. It ends the chat, blocks the pair for good, and puts the conversation in front of a human who can remove that person from the site.
• Chatting with a specific friend is one link. Share your invite and whoever opens it is paired with you directly, which is also the fastest way to make a quiet hour feel less quiet.

What we do not

• No video or voice. chatsizzle is text and photos today. Video is planned and not built. If that is the only thing you came for, we are not it yet, and we would rather say so.
• We cannot stop a screenshot. Photos disappear on a timer, and a recipient has their name and the time stamped into any picture before they see it, which deters a lazy re-share. It does not prevent one. No site can.
• Ages are self-declared. You must be at least 13 to use chatsizzle, and nobody, us included, has verified anything a stranger tells you about themselves.
• We are small, and we will not fake being big. At quiet hours you may wait for a match. The number of people online is the real number, never padded with bots or ghosts.
